STEP-BY-STEP: How to manage your Master Food Inventory

The Master Food Inventory tool is the first step in setting up and managing your Facility's food inventory.
Master Food Inventory is where:
- Master list of fish types used by the Facility are established.
- Reorder lows are set.
- Breakout waste percentages are established.
- Quantity-on-hand can be viewed; both off-site and on-site.
Definitions:

| Offsite Lbs/Kg | Sum total of food type located in "off-site" storage. |

Offsite Reorder |
[optional] When Inventory off-site reaches the amount entered here, the alert system will send an Inventory Reorder Notice to designated recipients. |

Sum total of food/fish type located in "on-site" storage. |

[optional] The percentage amount entered here is used to automatically calculate the amount of breakout required. The total of each fish type in Nutritional Plans X Waste % = Breakout Required. |

Here is how to create your Master Food Inventory:
- Open the Master Food Inventory tool from the Settings menu (depending on your Facility setup).
- Select the fish/food type from the drop down in the Food Description column.
- [optional] Enter the Reorder point for off-site and on-site in the appropriate fields (in lbs. or kg depending on your Facility Preference settings).
- [optional] Enter the % Waste for calculation of Required Breakout.
- Select "Submit" to save the record.
TIP: OERCA will alert you when the quantity on-hand reaches the Reorder point set here for each fish type. Set your reorder point to allow ample time for accounting process and shipping time. Filling in these values is optional.
