Environmental Enrichment Devices

SUMMARY

The Animal Welfare App allows Users the opportunity to track participation with Environmental Enrichment Devices (EED's) administered to Individual animals, Collections and Mixed Groups. The system grants Users assigned to the "Facility Management" Permission Group the ability to custom configure all of your Facility's enrichment devices as well as enrichment "intent".  This article will show you how to set up your EED's; and how to record their application within the Session/Feed Record tool.

STEP-BY-STEP: How to Configure Environmental Enrichment Devices

• Facility Manager Permission Group (configuration)
• Husbandry Member Permission Group

CONFIGURING ENRICHMENT DEVICES AND INTENT

1. Click the Facility Settings (gear) icon in the top right navigation bar.
2. Click the "Enrichment" button.

TO CONFIGURE ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT DEVICES:

1. Select the Enrichment Device tab and enter the name of each device into a field.
2. Click Submit button.

TO CONFIGURE ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT INTENT:

1. Select the Enrichment Intent tab and enter a title for each intent into a field.
2. Click Submit button.

RECORDING ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT

While you are in the Session/Feed Records component, follow the steps below.  For more information regarding the use of this feature, check out our knowledge base article "Recording Session & Feed Records". 

1. Click the ball icon to open EED window.
2. Click the plus (+) icon to open EED selection window.
3. Select Enrichment choices (Device, Intent, Participation Level, and Paired Primary).
4. Click the green checkmark icon when complete.

NOTE:  You can add multiple EED's to a single session by repeating steps 2-4.
