Summary
OERCA's Location Grouping tool allows you to assign the results of one Environmental Test Site to a selected group of other test sites.
For example, lets say exhibit (tank/habitat) A, B & C are sometimes combined into one exhibit (or system). Creating a Location Group with A as the Primary and B & C as Secondary sites will copy results data from A to B & C as long as that Location Group is "active". When the group is not active, each site will be treated separately.
TO SET UP LOCATION GROUPS FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
-
Click on the Settings (gear) icon in the top right navigation bar.
-
Click the Environmental Location Group linkto open the location grouping configuration modal.
-
Click the "New Group" button to create a new Location Group (or system).
-
Enter a Group Name to identify the new group.
-
Click the green check mark to submit.
-
Select the Location Group you want to configure from the list. The selected group will highlight in blue.
-
Select the Primary Location from the drop-down menu.
-
Select the Primary Test Site (sample site) from the drop-down.
Tip: Don't let "Primary Location" and "Primary Test Site" confuse you. In most cases there will be only one Test Site configured for each Location (so only one option to choose from in this step) and the Test Site name will most often share the same name as the Location.
-
Select the Secondary Test Sites you want to be grouped with the Primary Test Site
NOTE: When the Location Group is Active, all data results recorded for the Primary Test Site will be copied to all assigned Secondary Test Sites. The Primary Test Site will be the only site to show in the manual entry tool when the Location group is active.
