Summary
OERCA's Animal Registry tool allows you to manage the addition of new Individuals and Collections to your Facility; and also maintain ongoing census transactions. Sometimes animals are received into the system as a Collection, but later it is decided that they should instead be managed as Individuals. The article below will show you how to convert specimens to Individuals that were received into the system as a Collection.
STEP-BY-STEP: How To Convert Collections to Individuals

TO CONVERT ALL OR PART OF A COLLECTION
TO INDIVIDUALS FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Go to the Animal Registry and double click on the Collection that you would like to convert into one or more Individuals. This will open the Profile Card for that Collection.

Click the "Convert" button

Select the proper Collection Group (OID) from the list of available OID's.

Change the convert date if necessary. The date field will automatically fill in with the current date.

Add the quantity of Collection specimens you wish to convert to Individuals. This number cannot be greater than the total number of specimens in the selected OID Collection Group.

Click the green check mark when complete.

Edit or add any additional details to the new Individual specimens that will be created. A default "house name" will automatically be displayed in the "Animal name" field which is the common name followed by a number. You can change this name to something else if preferred. All acquisition, origin and source details associated with the Collection will be inherited to the Individua(s).
