Summary
Dive Sites are any physical area that your dive team is required to service. Dive Sites are often associated with a specific animal exhibit or area, but do not have to be (an open water intake for example). When configuring Dive Sites, they can be labelled anything you want them to be. The following is a step-by-step guide in setting up your Dive Sites.
NOTE: You will need to first configure Dive Activities before you can complete the setup for Dive Sites.
IMPORTANT: It is necessary to configure Dive Sites before you can complete Diver Profiles.
Follow the steps below to configure Dive Sites in OERCA:
-
From inside the Dive Module, go to the Settings Menu by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
-
Click on the Dive Sites button.
-
Select an area from the drop-down menu in the "Area" column.
-
Enter the depth of that dive area in the "Depth" column.
NOTE: Dive sites do NOT have to be associated with an Area. There may be instances where divers maintain spaces that are not animal Area/Exhibits in OERCA. If this is the case, uncheck the "Is Area" check-box and do NOT select an area from the drop-down menu. Simply type a name in the site box.
TIP: The "Site" column will auto-populate to the same name of the "Area" drop-down selection. If preferred, this can be changed to display a different name in the Dive Log tools. Simply type the new name in the site box field. This is to accommodate dive operations that have alternate titles for their dive sites that may not be the same as the actual exhibit names as listed in OERCA.
-
Press Submit to create Dive Sites.
Create "Sections" for each dive site:
-
Click on the "Sections" button.
-
Enter a description for each Section of the dive site you want to list.
-
List the Order you want the section to show in the Dive Log tool.
-
Mark the Section as "Active" for it to show up in Dive tools.
-
Press Submit when complete.
Create "Activities" for each dive site:
-
Click on the "Activities" button.
-
Select a predefined Activity from the drop-down list. This Activity drop-down list is configured using the "Dive Activity Selection" configuration tool.
-
List the Order you want the Activity to show in the Dive Log tool.
-
Mark the Activity as "Active" for it to show up in Dive tools.
-
Press the Submit button when complete.
NOTE: The "Name" column will default to display the same text as the drop-down selection in the "Activity" column. You can modify this name if you prefer it to display differently in the Dive Log tools.
