Summary
OERCA's Dive module was developed to organize and conduct all your company's dive activities. The very first step in this process is to schedule your planned dives for each day. This can be done as far in advance as you wish. This not only allows divers to view and plan their dive schedule, but the system will also use this information to calculate pressure groups and warn you if you attempt to schedule a dive that is outside of an allowable parameter.
STEP-BY-STEP: How to Schedule a Dive
Applies to:
- Dive Management Members.
- Members with Secondary access to Dive Management permissions.
Follow the steps below to schedule a dive:
-
From the left-side navigation menu, click on Dive Log.
-
Click the New Dive button.
-
Select the Date for your scheduled dive.
-
Select your dive Site.
-
Select the Planned Activities for your dive by clicking on each activity to be performed.
-
Select your dive Supervisor.
-
Select your dive Attendant.
NOTE: The Dive Log setup will allow a dive Supervisor to also act as your Attendant if necessary. You should check with your management team to see what internal rules might be established for this.
-
Click the Create Team button.
-
Enter a Team Name. You can create your own, or click the Auto button to have OERCA automatically create a team name.
-
Enter the Planned Depth of the dive. You can not enter a depth that is deeper than the Site you are diving.
-
Enter your Planned Total Bottom Time (TBT).
-
Enter your Planned Start Time.
NOTE: The information for Depth and TBT is used by OERCA to calculate each diver's Pressure Group. This information is used in determining the eligibility of divers for any future dives that are planned. Once a dive is conducted, the actual Depth and TBT will be applied to these calculations.
TIP: Please see additional information at the bottom of the page regarding the selectors for Honor Schedule, SSBA Dive and Guest Divers.
-
Click the Next button to assign individuals to your dive team.
-
Select a Team Lead from the drop-down list.
-
Select an individual for Diver 2 from the drop-down list.
-
Select an individual for Diver 3 from the drop-down list (if necessary).
-
Click Accept when complete.
NOTE: The best accepted practices for conducting professional dive operations limits the size of a team to three individuals. One Lead Diver and 1-2 support divers. If more than three individuals are diving, you can create multiple teams. Just click on the "Create Team" button from the main dive configuration page to create additional teams.
TIP: If there are individuals that are NOT showing up in the drop-down selection, it means that they are not eligible for your planned dive. Click on the "i" icon to open a pop-up window that will show a list of all ineligible divers and the reason they are not available.
-
Once all information has been configured for your planned dive, click the Submit button. To return to your Dive Log, click on the Dive Log button in the lower left hand corner of the window. Your dive will now show up in the Dive Log as shown below.
NOTE: The Dive Log will only show dives scheduled for the current day. This is to prevent front line divers from accidentally conducting a dive that is scheduled for a later day.
Additional Selectors for Team Configurations.
Honor Schedule - If the Honor Schedule box is checked, OERCA will filter available team divers to only those that are scheduled to be in for that day as indicated by the Staff Schedule tool in OERCA. If you are not utilizing the Staff Schedule function in OERCA, you will not want to activate this button.
SSBA Dive - This is a Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus dive and is subject to different restrictions than a regular dive.
Guest Divers - Many facilities offer the opportunity for guests to get in the water and dive in exhibits. This selection allows you to add guests to the dive log to track all guest dive activities.
