Dive Module Glossary
Below is a list of important terms you will find within the Dive Module. Understanding these terms will help you better utilize the features of the dive system.
Supervisor: This is the person on staff for the day that is responsible for all dive operations and dive related safety. This individual does not necessarily have to be present at the dive sites. You must assign a Supervisor for each scheduled dive.
Attendant: This individual is present at each dive site and remains on the surface to assist with dive preparation, helping divers get in and out of the water, assist with dive gear and spot the dive team from surface. Every scheduled dive needs to have an assigned Attendant for the dive. The Attendant can be the same individual as the Supervisor.
Dive Team: The dive team consists of those individuals that are entering the water to perform a dive. Each dive team must have at least two divers and no more than three divers.
Team Name: This is simply the name given to each Dive Team assigned to any dive. When creating a team, you can have OERCA automatically create a team name for you.
Team Lead: This diver is in charge of the in-water Dive Team and is responsible for all dive activities.
Diver 2/Diver 3: These are additional members of the in-water dive team. There cannot be more than three divers assigned a a dive team.
SSBA: This stands for Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus. The rules in scheduling and conducting SSBA dives are different. Mainly, a SSBA dive can have only one individual assigned to a team, and does not require a minimum of two like regular dives.
Honor Schedule: OERCA has a staff scheduling feature where managers can create daily schedules and add them to the calendar. If the "honor schedule" feature is selected when scheduling dives, only those staff members scheduled to be at work that day will be available to assign to a dive.
Guest Diver: If your facility offers guests the opportunity to dive in your pools; you can assign guests to dive teams and log all guest dives.
Planned Depth: When scheduling a dive, this is how deep you anticipate your dive team to go. The planned depth will be used to calculate pressure groups for your team members as you schedule dives. Once a dive has been completed, the actual depth will then be applied to pressure group calculations. OERCA will prevent you from scheduling a diver to participate in a dive that exceeds their allowable pressure group.
Planned TBT (Total Bottom Time): When scheduling a dive, this is the total bottom time of the dive you anticipate for your team. The planned TBT will be used to calculate pressure groups for your team members as you schedule dives. Once a dive has been completed, the actual TBT will then be applied to pressure group calculations. OERCA will prevent you from scheduling a diver to participate in a dive that exceeds their allowable pressure group.
Planned Start Time: When scheduling a dive, this is the time you expect dive operations to begin. This is for scheduling purposes only.
Actual Depth: When recording a dive, this is the actual depth that your dive team dove. The actual depth will be applied to pressure group calculations, and will replace any calculations that were previously using the planned depth. OERCA will prevent you from scheduling a diver to participate in a dive that exceeds their allowable pressure group.
Actual TBT: When recording a dive, this is the actual total bottom time that your dive team spent underwater. The actual TBT will be applied to pressure group calculations, and will replace any calculations that were previously using the planned TBT. OERCA will prevent you from scheduling a diver to participate in a dive that exceeds their allowable pressure group.
Actual Start Time: This is the actual time that a dive started. This is entered when recording a dive in the dive log.
