There are a few things to know about logging in using Company-specific Single Sign-On.
If your company has configured Single Sign-On (also called federated authentication or SSO), this means you can login to your company's directory in your browser and when you open The Animal Welfare App you will automatically be logged in.
What is Single Sign-on?
Single Sign-On (SSO) and federated authentication are ways to use one set of login credentials (like your username and password) to access multiple different services or applications.
Think of it like a VIP pass at a theme park – once you get your wristband at the entrance (logging in once), you can access all the different rides and attractions (different applications) without having to show your ticket again at each one!
Things to know:
- If your company has SSO configured, you must be logged into your company directory FIRST, before using SSO. Usually this is done by storing your company login in the browser itself.
- Single Sign-On is company-specific and interacts with your company's security directory. The website address will look something like: "yourcompany.animalwelfareapp.com"
- You can still go to the normal login by simply typing in the website address as: https://animalwelfareapp.com (without your company subdomain).
Trouble-shooting:
-
Pre-existing shortcuts may not work
- If you are using a saved shortcut to The Animal Welfare App and your company recently setup SSO, you will need to delete the shortcut and create a new shortcut to the correct SSO address (yourcompany.animalwelfareapp.com).
-
My SSO login isn't working or doesn't recognize my user account
- Make sure your username is registered in your company's Active Directory. If not, contact your company admin or IT for assistance.
- In some cases, your Username in The Animal Welfare App may not match your credentials in your company's Active Directory. If this is the case, contact support@oerca.com and request that your username be updated to match your company's directory.
