Summary
OERCA's Mobile application gives Users the ability to record key data on their smart phone or tablet while in the field. Below are instructions showing how census transactions can be entered using OERCA's mobile web application.
STEP-BY-STEP: How to Record Census Transactions
Applies to these Permission Groups:
- Husbandry Members
- Facility Management
TO ENTER CENSUS TRANSACTIONS USING THE MOBILE APP, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
-
Open the OERCA web app on your phone or tablet. For easy access, we suggest that you create a shortcut to our Progressive Web App on your mobile device.
TIP:
While most people are familiar with "native" apps that are downloaded to your mobile device; there are many notable benefits to using Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) when available. Due to these special benefits and current trends that often make PWAs preferred over native apps, OERCA utilizes PWA technology.
-
Tap on the exhibit/area GROUP to filter your list to those configured areas/exhibits.
-
Now tap on the Area/Exhibit in the list that requires an action (i.e. - recording a census transaction). Once an Area is selected, it will be highlighted in green and a row of "action icons" will show at the bottom of the screen.
-
Tap on a preferred Action icon in the bottom row of the application. Actions to manage census transactions include Transfers and Mortalities.
NOTE: The buttons at the bottom of the application will not appear until an Area is selected. You may have to scroll the icons with your finger to the left for the census actions to show.
TIP: If you need to change the time when entering a census transaction, you can tap on the time display to edit.
